What is KIDS Foundation?

KIDS Foundation is one of Australia’s premier children’s safety organisations dedicated to childhood injury prevention and injury recovery through community-based education programs. KIDS Foundation has been recently awarded the Victorian Children’s Charities Award and in 2006 received the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships.

The KIDS Foundation, established in 1993 is a Health Promotion Charity and national leader in childhood injury prevention and injury recovery. KIDS Foundation Injury Prevention provides resources to over 700 primary schools and delivers quality school and community based safety education programs to more than 400 primary schools each year nationally, potentially reaching over 450,000 children and their families. The programs provide a holistic approach to safety education advocating for the reduction of preventable childhood injuries and death. KIDS Foundation Injury Recovery provides programs and facilities for children with serious burns or life-changing injuries and support for their families and carers. Through experiences that encourage family participation we provide opportunities to facilitate communication, understanding, emotional support, the sharing information and skill development.
